Tough Solar is a project by Chicago artist Michael Lenzi’s. Tough Solar’s first three releases — “Fog White “(double vinyl LP,), “Weren’t There” and “Puke’s Last Stand” are out on Sweet Pea Records, They can also be heard and purchased on Band Camp.

The backstory:
Tough Solar mixes dub, ambient and instrumental hip-hop aesthetics. All instruments are played live. No computer editing. Michael plays drums, percussion, voice and homemade samples to achieve the sound. Plenty of echo and reverb are thrown in to spice things up.
Tough Solar is Michael Lenzi. Michael has lived in Chicago since 1989 and played drums, voice and guitar in Number One Cup, Gold Medal, The Fire Show, Resplendent and Lenzi.
